Judith (Judy) Isobel McFeely (née Haig), in her 76th year, passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital on May 22, 2026, following complications from a respiratory illness. Judy was born on November 30, 1950, in Campbellford, Ontario, to the late Barbara Haig (Wood) and the late Earl Haig of Campbellford.
She was the cherished sister of Steven (Donna), David, and Wanita (Dan). Judy was a proud and loving aunt to Joe (Angela), Jamin, Sarah (Devon), and Blaine, and a great-aunt to Raya. She was also a devoted “dog mom” to Simon, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy.
Judy devoted 25 years of her life to teaching elementary school-aged children in the Clarington area. She was respected for her dedication, kindness, and care for her students. Throughout her career in education, she touched the lives of many young people, including her niece Sarah, whom she encouraged to become a writer through her steady support and encouragement over the years.
Judy will be remembered for her generous and gentle nature and the love she shared with her family. Treasured family gatherings included many Christmas celebrations, birthdays, and country music dances with her mom, Barbara. More recently, Judy’s family found comfort and happiness in weekly visits at Extendicare Cobourg, where afternoons were filled with laughter, treats, and coffee. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A private burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Havelock, Ontario on June 6th, 2026.
