Barbara Marie Lewis, lovingly known as Barb, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born on June 5, 1949, in Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, Barb was the beloved daughter of Charles Tupper DeWolfe and Annette Lavoie.
Barb leaves behind her devoted husband, Raymond Lewis; her beloved daughter, Sarah; her son-in-law, Zoltan; her stepson Richard and his wife Catherine; her brother William (Bill), her sister Linda and their families; as well as many dear friends.
Above all else, Barb adored her two grandchildren, Jason and Millie, whom she loved deeply and devotedly. They were the light of her life, and some of her happiest moments were spent with them during sleepovers, family visits, outings, and attending plays together. Her grandchildren will miss her tremendously and will carry her love and memories with them forever.
Barb will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, generosity, and deep love for her family. She was a supportive and thoughtful presence to those around her and forever wished for peace and harmony among the people she loved. Her warmth, guidance, and love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a memorial service at Cobourg Alliance Church on Saturday May 23rd at 10am followed by a reception at the Church.
Barb was a beloved friend of mine for over 50 years. We spent wonderful times together and chatted often. The time that is very special to me, was the year we spent in England together. Barb was a wonderful friend and I will fondly remember her great laugh, sense of humour and her kind spirit. I will miss her dearly.
Although our paths crossed through church a few years back, Barb’s warm and caring spirit left a lasting impression on us. Ray, we cherish the memories of the couples’ retreats we shared with you and Barb, and especially the joy of celebrating with you both when Sarah first joined your family. Barb will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her kindness, and the warmth she so naturally brought to everyone around her. Please know that you, your family, and all who loved her are in our thoughts and prayers as you grieve this sudden and heartbreaking loss.
Ray and family we send you our deepest condolences. Barb was a very sweet lady and she will be missed. Treasure all your memories of Barb as they will help you through these difficult days.
