Curtis Woodrow Stanley

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Curtis Woodrow Stanley on Monday April 6th, 2026 at Regency Manor Nursing Home in Port Hope in his 94th year. Loving husband of the late Audrey Stanley (nee Burnett). Cherished father of Michelle Higginson (Todd). Beloved Poppa of Sheldon. Brother to Gene Stanley (the late Donelda Stanley), William Stanley (Sheila Stanley), and predeceased by Russell Stanley (the late Donna Stanley). He was a wonderful Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
When Curt was younger, he travelled from his home in Nova Scotia to Ontario to play baseball. When in Ontario, he met the love of his life, Audrey and had lived in Ontario since.
Curt worked at the Ontario Development Corporation in Cobourg. He started in the boiler room and retired as a Purchasing Agent.
He will be remembered for always enjoying a good game of cribbage and euchre. He also enjoyed skating, bowling, the Boston Red Sox, pigeons, fishing and the Montreal Canadians (Go, Habs, Go!).
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Regency Manor and Dr. Daskalopoulos for exception care of Curt.
Cremation has taken place and an interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery, on Burnham Street, Cobourg will take place on Saturday April 18th, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to the Best Western for a time of reception following the graveside service. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
