Bob was the beloved husband of Sandra for over 67 wonderful years. He was a cherished father to Sharon, Michele (Mike), and Scott (Cheryl), and a loving grandfather to ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his sisters, Cathy and Dinty (Sandy), and is now reunited with his sisters Donna and Pam.
A devoted family man, Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with those he loved. Besides family, Bob enjoyed history, reading, sending his daily “philosophy” emails, and many miles of walking with great friends. He was a respected member of the Freemasons, where he formed many meaningful friendships and contributed to his community throughout the years.
His strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bob will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
As one of the many distant relatives who received his emails, and some family updates, I will miss the contact for sure. I hope he had a peaceful passing and is at rest now. He will be missed!
As a member of the walking club I knew Bob for many years. Impressed by his wisdom and sense of humour. Had many good chats with him as far back as when we had 30 or more members. Sandra was a steady member and good walker. Bob will be greatly missed!
I was very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I enjoyed his daily emails and pictures of Sandra's flowers or garden, and the funnies he sent. He will be missed. My condolescences to Sandra and the family back East.
Condolence to Sandra, Sharon, Michele, Scott and familys. We will never forgot the time with You in Canada ans by us in Jungingen Germany. Gustolf and the Kohler familys in Germany
Bob has been a member of Cramahe Horticultural Society for many years. He will be missed. Condolences to Sandra and family.
Greetings It is with sadness that read of Robert’s passing. It brings back so many fond memories of working with him as he accumulated a significant Masonic Library. He was a Mason and practiced the Masonic teaching in his everyday life. He will be missed although his memories will live for a very only time. Doug and Cathy Galt
So sadden to hear of Bob's passing. One could not ask for a better Friend than Bob. His weekly, sometimes daily emails with inspirational quotes and "groaners" made my day. Both Bob and Sandra made everyone welcome when visited. Bob never cut corners. A stickler for protocol. "If your doing something, do it right or don't do it at all." Bob was very creative. He took pride in the Stained Glass projects that he created. A constant reminder of a Life Well Lived. Bob, Thanks For Those Memories. S & F Gord
It is with the deepest sadness I learn of Bob's passing. May I extend to Sandra and the family my heartfelt condolences. I shall miss his friendship over these many years and his daily messages of philosophy, uplifting thoughts and humour. Indeed it was a pleasure and privilege to know him.
A great man. He will be missed.
Condolences to the Compton family on the passing of Bob. We will never forget the good times we spent with Bob and Sandra in our shared garden space where the deer always ate his plants exclusively.

Bob: As a person of faith, I find meaning in your passing on a Holy Saturday. I have always admired your candor around being CT'd back in the day and how that impacted the rest of your life. You more than met the bar though, in your personal conduct, marriage and family life. Go well, good man.
