With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Logan, a well-loved sister, daughter, cousin, niece, counsel, and friend.
Ann will be greatly missed by her brother, John Logan, and sister, Janet Logan. Ann was predeceased by her parents, John Frederick Logan, Q.C., Margaret Doreen Logan (nee Doran) and Ann’s sister, Susan Elizabeth Mokelky. Ann will be missed by the Philp, Doran, Eberle and McKercher families, whose love and support has always been appreciated.
Ann grew up well-loved in Toronto with an innate sense of kindness, insight and ability to see people. In 1985, Ann returned to university to earn a law degree from UWO. Upon graduation, Ann began her career in Toronto and developed an appreciation for community service while volunteering at the United Way Survivor Support Programme and PAATH Affordable Housing for Young Mothers.
After relocating to Cobourg in 2005, Ann and Stefani Rudd co-founded Third Street Law, with a vision to build a family law practice based on compassion and collaboration. Ann was a dedicated and active member of the community and served as a board member on the Northumberland County Law Association, Northumberland Help Centre which includes Community Legal Centre, as well as the Northumberland Hospital Foundation, where Ann served as a board member for eight years and Chairperson from 2011 to 2013. Ann was respected by all for her steady presence, sound judgment, integrity and intelligence.
Everyone who had the good luck to meet Ann, will remember her generosity, understanding and contagious sense of humour. Ann’s great style, loyalty and sense of fun will be missed by many, including Ann’s lifetime friend and partner-in-crime, Lynda Teeter, Ann’s business partner and dear friend, Stefani Rudd, as well as the many other friends Ann made everywhere she went.
We remember Ann best on docks from Balsam to Horseshoe enjoying the lake, family, friends, great stories and fun. Thank you Ann, for sharing your light and laughter with us, in rain and shine.
Ann’s life will be celebrated on February 27, 2026 from 1:30 to 4:00pm at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East in Cobourg. Please join us to raise a glass, share stories, and remember Ann with each other. Initial welcome remarks will be made at 2:15, followed by reception and mingling.
If desired, a donation in Ann's memory to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
As someone who served with Ann on the Help and Legal Centre of Northumberland Board and knew her well the community has lost a great champion for social justice and a very caring and compassionate leader and individual. I wish Ann's family and friends comfort and peace at this difficult time. Please know she and you in our thoughts.

Ann was one of my first cousins. Our mothers were sisters and the best of friends. For my entire life I have been extremely fortunate to have Ann it. As the eldest of the Logan, Doran, Eberle cousins I always looked up to her and admired her. Her stedfast love and unconditional support for her family was an inspiration to me, and her generosity of spirit nurtured me always. I was so proud of her decision to attend law school and pursue a legal career. I have very fond memories of our extended families spending time at the Logan cottage, the Eberle farm and at Christmas holiday dinners. I will always remember her wry sense of humour - a Logan family trait and gift. I extend my love and strength to John and Janet to help them during these very difficult times. Ann, you will always be in my heart.
Your sister was a most caring and effective advocate. She will be missed by her colleagues and the community she care so much for. Please accept my most sincere sympathy in your loss.

It is Ann's sense of humour and thoughtful insights that we will remember the most. As our kids grew up and got to know Ann more, they thought she was one of the most "authentic" adults they'd ever met. We were fortunate to have Ann in our lives and she was fortunate to have such caring siblings. We miss her.
Our family was blessed to have Ann as part of it. The matriarch of the Logan, Doran and Eberle cousin clan she brought great joy and pride to all of us. As a close cousin we spend many wonderful summers at the Logan cottage and Eberle farm. I admired her strength and support for her family during difficult times and her wry sense of humour always. I hold her in my heart and give my strength and support to Janet and John, my dear and much loved cousins.
