My condolences to the families. I met Dave close to 30 years ago while working for a hydraulic hose and fittings supplier and we shared the same urgency and commitment to customer service together so I knew we would get along fine. A few years later I was hired by Howard Marten and it didn't take long to realize Dave cared greatly about his fellow co-workers and HM customers and I appreciated his honest advice and work ethic. Dave and I worked together for many years and in the early days I had the pleasure of meeting his father (Bob) who was the engineering manager at the time. Bob was a very patient man with a great deal of knowledge and practical understanding our systems which is obviously where Dave got his talents. I still tell this story today about Bob (Dave's father) needing to put a chimney pipe up through the ceiling and roof of his house and proceeded to set a rifle on the living room floor and put a level on the side of it and fired a bullet up through the roof and this is where he ran the stove pipe. Urban legend or the truth? I'm not quite sure? Dave and I had quite a few laughs together over the years which I don't think many people were fortunate to know that side of him. Rest in Peace Dave and I hope you find your cabin and a piece of property in Heaven. You will be missed.
Dave was my mentor for many years. He taught me so much and was always generous with his time and patient with his knowledge. I will always remember our road trip to a customer in Ohio, when we didn’t have GPS or internet and had to navigate with a road map, getting briefly lost along the way. His patience and good humor made the trip memorable. He will be deeply missed, and I’m grateful for the lasting impact he had on my career. My condolences go to his family and loved ones.

My deepest condolences to you. I had the privilege of working with David since 1992. David was a smart, diligent and focused engineer with an eye for practicality and efficiency. He was always willing to provide good feedback and I am thankful to have known and learned from him.
I first met Dave in Wabush Labrador in 1964 . He was two years old and the son of Bob Macey whom I worked with in the “ Shovel Shop until 1967. Bob accepted a position with Howard Marten Company’ in Ontario and brought his family to Ajax Ont. Fast forward a number of years and Bob brought his two sons Rob and Dave to work at HMC as well . Rob worked in the office and Dave reported to his father who was by now the engineering manager, They were both excellent additions to a growing company . Dave was well liked by the shop personnel, the office staff and especially the engineering staff of customers he worked with on a daily basis. Dave was a valued project manager with emphasis on mining equipment, particularly Grinding Mills with Hydrostatic trunnion bearings that required high pressure circulating oil. Dave , very much like his father had a very practical and innovative engineering talent . It was through this talent that Dave brought many improvements and innovations to our systems designs that kept us in the forefront as the preferred supplier to many grinding mill clients .I had the privilege of travelling with Dave to visit the engineering personnel of our customers and enjoyed his company , especially his unique sense of humor and down to earth practicality. I am thankful our paths crossed and that I had the privilege of knowing many of the Macey family My sincere condolences to you .Dave made a difference in life for many of us and will be sorely missed .

I had the great privilege to work with Bob and Dave in the same company for many years and I learned to appreciate Dave knowledge and dedication. Dave was not afraid to speak up his mind when needed. He was funny at times and always there to share his knowledge with us. He will be missed, and I hope his family will have some comfort looking at all the great memories they have together.
