With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of John Harold Sasseville, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, in Cobourg. He was born November 22, 1943, and passed away December 6, 2025.
Loving father of Tamara Grant (Colin), the late Corporal John Sasseville and Jennifer Woolacott (Steve). Proud grandfather of Brandon Hiebert-Burgess, Jake Grant (Emily), Alexandra Woolacott (Jared), Reese Grant, and MacKenzie Woolacott (Kyle). Will be remembered by Great Grandsons, Noah and Luke Grant.
Survived by brothers, James and Joseph Sasseville and sisters, Lorraine Brimacombe (Russell), Betty Terry-Quinn (Dave), June Stapleton (Morris), Daisy McNamara (Bob), and Dianne Shannon (David). Son of the late Edmond and Doreen Sasseville (nee, Hunter).
John was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Fondly remembered by special friend, Lynn Johnstone.
John retired from General Foods (Kraft) after 40 years of service and enjoyed his retirement, travelling to many places throughout the world. He took pride in his family and home, enjoyed football, (Buffalo Bills) and hosted many family gatherings. He loved watching Westerns and listening to George Strait. He was greatly loved and will be missed by many, especially his cat, Mitsy.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Northumberland Hills Hospital.
A private family service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He will be laid to rest at the Union Cemetery in Cobourg.
In lieu of flowers donations appreciated to Northumberland Humane Society, and Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Betty, sorry to read of your brother John's passing. John would stop by for a visit and play cribbage on occasion at a friends place when I was there. Sorry for your loss...a kind, friendly and great guy. My condolences to you and the families.

Sad to here of Johns passing, thoughts and prayers are with the family. I did a number of carpentry jobs for John over the years. John loved to have a visit,he would make me a coffee and always had some buns or donuts on hand and we would reminisce about years at the foods and all the people that worked there,I didn’t but knew a lot of people that did. June did work there and had known John for years. Will miss you John.RIP
John was always a very kind and thoughtful person and I always enjoyed being with him. Our boys thought of him as a Grandpa and he will be greatly missed by all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
I am very sorry to hear about Johns passing. I have always thought of John as a grandpa figure growing up. As my grandma would always bring him along to babysit me and my brother. he was a bundle of joy and always knew how to make us laugh. I will always remember him taking us to Swiss Chalet, slipping us $20 and telling us not to tell our grandma. He was a very kind, loving man and he will be greatly missed.

Hello to the Sasseville Family. I met your Dad/brother/partner at Kraft when I worked there. It was John who encouraged me to run for the union position I held. I really enjoyed chatting and having a laugh with John. He was a really good guy and loved his family. I remember him talking about his family, regularly. I only ran into him occasionally after Kraft closed but always wondered how he was. I am very sad to find out he has passed away. Rest in peace John

John was a great neighbor whether keeping an eye on our place when we were away or just being there to chat. We will miss him
