Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg, in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Debbie (nee Harvey). Loving father of Jordan (Ryan) Richardson. Cherished grandfather of Olivia Richardson. Treasured son of Sadie (nee Smith) and the late George Inia. Dear brother of Wayne (Lynn) Inia and the late Darlene Gillespie. Brother-in-law of Michael Harvey. Uncle of Jeff (Emily) Inia and Pauline (Eric) Gillespie. Nephew of Jean McCorry and Fred Smith. We are deeply grateful to Paul and Lisa Phillips for their steadfast friendship throughout the years. Special thanks to Sandy and the late Terry Greer for the joy they brought with their Christmas visits over the years. Before his Parkinson’s diagnosis, Squid enjoyed his many days playing golf at Dalewood, Ashbrook, and Penryn. He was also quite skilled at pool and darts, and was always proud to show off his trophies from his younger years. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, particularly the nurses and doctors on 2A (especially Beverly, nurse practitioner, for her support) and in the Palliative Unit, for their kindness in the last weeks of Squid’s life. A celebration of Squid’s life will be held at the Port Hope Legion (29A Thomas Street, Port Hope) on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, from 12pm-4pm. Very casual, drop-in style. Donations to Parkinson Canada or to the Northumberland Hills Hospital – Palliative Care would be appreciated by the family.

I am so very sorry to see that Squid has passed. He was such a good man and a constant source of quiet, earnest conversations whenever we had a few moments to spare at TCS. My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends for his, way-too-early passing. He will be missed. Rest easy Dave.
