Through tears of joy and sorrow the family wish to announce the passing of Jean Agnes (Brisbin) Harris on November 26, 2025 in her 97th year. Predeceased by husband Ken (2018) and son Peter (1983). Survived by daughters Wendy Hynes (Alan), Pauline Couture (Roland), Cauline, and Karen Birney (Trevor) ; grandchildren Jennifer, Heidi, Nicole, Chris, Shannon, Thomas and Heather and four great grandchildren. Predeceased by all her siblings and their spouses: Lorne Brisbin (Marie and Eleanor), Marjorie Clapperton (Jack) and twin sister June Shearer (Omar).
Visitation will take place at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg, on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 from 11:00am until time of service at 12:00pm. A private family interment will take place at St. George’s Cemetery in Gore’s Landing.
The family wish to thank Dr. Xi, the VON and St. Elizabeth nurses and especially the staff of Legion Village.
Donations to Ed’s House in appreciation of the extraordinary care provided by the staff and volunteers.

Jean was the secretary at Plainville School when I taught kindergarten there. She was one of the loveliest people I have ever met. She was so competent at her job, as well as, caring towards the staff and the students. I have thought of her fondly over the years and hoped she was well. My condolences to her family, you have lost a precious woman.
