Peacefully, at Ed's House Northumberland Hospice, surrounded by the love of her sister and a few of her closest friends. Catherine was the cherished daughter of the late Ada and Gordon Earl and the beloved sister of Heather.
Diagnosed with Cancer in 2012, Catherine was determined that the illness would not deter her from living life to the fullest. She will be remembered for her kind and compassionate demeanour and her wonderful sense of humour.
Catherine leaves behind her beloved Uncle John, Aunts, (Liz, Anne and Mary) many cousins and their families, and her wonderful circle of friends in Cobourg who have supported her through her journey. She maintained lifelong friendships with Denise Love - her friend since their university days, Diane and Velma Johnston and her "cousins" Barb and Bill Wilson.
The family would like to sincerely thank Rev. Matthew McMillan and Rev. Will Simon for their pastoral care, Elizabeth Vosburgh (Parish Nurse), the nursing staff and doctors at Northumberland Hills Hospital, and the staff and volunteers at Ed's House – you are truly amazing. THANK YOU.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th, 2025, at McCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King Street East, Cobourg from 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Catherine's Celebration of Life will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Cobourg (Corner of College & King) on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at 12:00 followed by a reception in The Great Hall.
A private family interment will be held a later date at Christ Church Cemetery, Oso.

Remember all the laughter and quiet moments you shared—their kindness and spirit live on in those memories. Please know I’m here for you, whether you need someone to listen, a shoulder to lean on, or help with anything practical. You don’t have to face this alone. With all my love and sympathy, Gary

My condolences to Heather and all Cathy’s family. Cathy was one of the kindest people I have met since joining the St. Peters family. Cathy had so much courage, she was truly an inspiration to me many times, both at church and at the hospital Cancer Care Unit, here in Cobourg where we would meet, have a hug, a laugh and shoot the breeze. Rest in peace my friend, you will be so missed.
