Lois Russell (nee Earhart) passed peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the age of 80 after a brief illness. Our hearts ache at the loss of such a kind and gentle woman—mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. However, Lois missed her husband David dearly; they had celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage before David’s passing on August 31, 2023. While the grief of Lois hangs heavy, there is peace in knowing that she is reunited with David, her soul mate as well as her beloved baby Brian. Lois leaves behind her legacy and greatest loves, her children; Mark, Brian (deceased), Mathew and Karie (Andy). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Luke (Jen) and Rachel (Eugene) as well as her great-grandchildren whom she cherished Justice, Peyton, Deacon, Alice and Jonathan.
With great love for a generous and thoughtful mother and grandmother, Lois was also a beloved sister to Lawrence (deceased), Amelia, and Dorothy. She was the daughter of Edith (deceased) and William Earhart (deceased). Lois was also a cherished sister-in-law to Rusty (Muriel), Phillip (Linda), Joy (Eric), and Gary (Laura).
Lois had remarkable skills as a seamstress and cook, and a deep affection for family gatherings. Sailing brought her joy, especially when shared with her spouse David (deceased), as they found solace and excitement on the waters of Lake Ontario. Her time at Royal LePage was memorable, and where she formed two very dear treasured friendships with Barb (deceased)(Gerry) and Collette (Fridy).
A celebration of life for David and Lois will be held in the future. Instead of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Association of Mental Health (CAMH) in memory of Lois.
