Lauren was a client of mine, as I run PJ’s cleaning company. Lauren was kind, very easy going, and a lover of animals and her community. It was always a pleasure to go see her every other week ! She had a very kind heart and great energy. Having known Lauren, most of my life, makes me realize how precious friendships and life can be. Thousands upon thousands of great memories made hanging around the Clinton house. I will miss Lauren’s sense of humour and sarcasm.

Lauren and I worked together many years ago at the Cobourg Police Service. She was an excellent dispatcher with a sense of humour, and I trusted her with my life each and every shift. I knew she had my back when J was on the road. When I bought my first home, Lauren delivered a beautiful basket of greenery to my house, a gesture I didn’t forget as it was so unexpected and thoughtful. When my second son was born prematurely, he was in the NICU and the night before I was to leave the hospital without him, Lauren called me in my hospital room, and talked to me all night. We cried together and once again, she had my back and walked me through that difficult journey. She has been through her own loss and knew how terrified I was about my preemie. She talked to me as a Mom and not as my dispatcher. She ended the conversation with an “I love you.” And I knew she meant it. Logan, your Mom was a great lady. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences to Logan and the family. Lauren was the root of my social life in Cobourg. She was the queen bee, the ruler of the roost, with a firm but fair hand. She didn't suffer fools gladly and had a huge heart. If I hadn't met Lauren, I wouldn't have made the friends I have. She taught me about "toilet paper math" and pretty much everything else I know about the town. I always knew that if I was ever in a bind, she'd be there. I'm thankful for the good times we had, the lunches, Leaf games, Scaramouche, but I thought we'd be friends for much longer. I hope she's being serenaded by Freddy Mercury out on the astral plane. You will be so missed...

I keep recalling all the little quips and pieces of advice my cousin gave me over the years, on every topic. "Here- Miss vegetarian eat this. Lentils, I made it spicy. You have to use lots of cumin." "I know what you mean, it's called a peasant blouse. It needs to be light, really sheer, sheer enough you can spit through it." I will remember her laughter, and her love for animals too.

Heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved Lauren and who are now, like me, in numb shock over her sudden passing. So many great memories of time spent with her - She took "TPing a vehicle" off my bucket list - Helpful hint: Always use the good stuff! The word "jocularity" used by Sgt. Thomas one shift will always evoke huge gales of laughter as there was something in the air that night & we just couldn't stop laughing. Driving the backroads for lilac branches to decorate the tables for Lauren & Eric's wedding reception, Kelly's outings, lunches, etc. I remember what Lauren said years ago when i told her who I was dating. "Have you met his mother yet?", she asked, very seriously. The dread started to set in. "She's a LOVELY lady who will always tell you what's on her mind". Lauren was bang on. In fact, she was just like Lauren. <3 I will continue to think of Lauren whenever Queen or Def Leppard comes on the radio and when the lilacs bloom each year...just as I have always done. RIP Lauren.
