Beloved wife of Max Beaver, loving mother of Jeff (Debbie), Lori, Carol (Rob). Cherished grandmother of Ben, Shari (Brendan) and Cassandra. Loving Great-grandmother to Rowan and Wyatt, all of Alderville First Nation. Pre-deceased by sister Elizabeth (Betty) Pawson of Toronto and brother James (Jimmy) Grant of Fraserville. Pre-deceased by her parents Bennett and Elizabeth Grant.
Our mom loved her family, home and her flowers, especially her lilacs. Her house was a place that felt like home to many throughout the year. Her door was always open and her food was always for everyone.
She enjoyed travelling to many places in Canada including Calgary many times and loved to visit the Rockies. She and her sister-in-law Vivian spent many trips on buses rambling and exploring the USA. Jessie and Max were road warriors in their own right, travelling in their van across Canada and visiting the National Parks all the way to Fort Smith in the NWT.
Jessie sincerely enjoyed the seniors events in Alderville and being able to connect with her friends at the different events and trips.
Jessie fell in love with Rice Lake at a very young age. She would spend her summers in the area, swimming and fishing. She passed on that love to the whole family.
She made the best apple pie and butter tarts that you could ask for! Jessie will always be remembered for her sharp sense of humour and ability to crack a joke at any moment. She loved to ramble the back roads of Northumberland and always seemed to “forget” her wallet so that she could be treated to a lunch or a sweet treat along the way.
Jessie’s wishes were to not have a funeral as she did not want to cause a “fuss.” We ask that you take time to remember this incredible woman and feel free to share those stories with us in the coming weeks.
Special thanks to Dr. Bayer, Dr. Niglas, Sylvie and the Alderville Health Team and the many nurses and caregivers from both Northumberland Hills Hospital and Ed’s House.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Ed's House Northumberland Hospice or Northumberland Hills Hospital. Thank you from the Beaver family.

Our condolences to the Beaver family. Jan and I did not know Jessie but her son Jeff told us many wonderful stories about her, and showed us her favourite apple tree from which she made great pies and tarts. She will be fondly remembered as a great lady and an important member of the Alderville community.
My heartfelt sympathies to Jessie's family and friends. I met Jessie at our seniors' group and truly enjoyed the time I was able to chat with her. She will be missed so much.
To all Jessie’s loved ones, I was so saddened to hear of Jessie’s passing. My precious mom (Jessie Schmidt) and Jessie became friends back in the late 90’s when they were both in the waiting room of the old hospital emergency room. The nurse came out and called “Jessie” and they both got up and that was the moment they connected. As the story goes, they struck up a beautiful friendship from there on. They would go for drives together and usually end up at the “slots”. As my mom got older and her dementia worsened, Jessie was always so loving and kind. She would come and pick mom up for drives and it would brighten mom’s day up so much. Hopefully they are together again and on a “drive”. RIP Jessie, we appreciate all you did for our mom.
I am so sorry to hear of Jessie’s passing. Please accept my condolences. I got to know her a bit while volunteering at NHH. What a character. She will live on in your memories.
