Ron Lehtinen passed away peacefully with his wife Roxine and family by his side. He is survived by his children: Daniel (Désireé) and Deanne (Christina), his adored grandchildren Marieke, Iselle and Neve; his siblings Hans (Sue), Erik (Joyce) and Peggy (Craig).
Ron was first and foremost a family man. He loved his large extended family; his in-laws on both the Lehtinen and Jacques sides, including Wayne and Kit, Wendy and Tony; and of course, his numerous and beloved nieces and nephews. He loved his grandchildren, supporting them in everything they did, which sometimes became particularly expressive on the sidelines of a soccer game.
Ron put everyone at ease. He was quick with a joke and ready with a laugh, bringing humour and joy to everyone in every situation. He loved music and dancing, making sure everyone was included in the party. He was a thoughtful person who considered life’s big mysteries over a chat and coffee, with just about anyone. Ron was an outgoing, easy-to-get-along-with guy, an authentically charming person.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at The Golden Plough in Cobourg for their care and kindness. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
Ron looked out for everyone doing small, good deeds everywhere he went. If you would like to do something in Ron’s honour, please consider a simple act of kindness.
