Cherie-Ann 'Ann' Brooks

November 21, 1965 - June 6, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Cherie “Ann” Brooks. Ann passed away in her Ottawa, Ontario home on June 5, 2023, at the age of 58. She was the proud mother of her two loving boys Justin and Owen. She was also the cherished eldest daughter of the late Wayne and Merete (Jacobsen) Brooks. Precious sister of Andrew, Catherine (Bruce), Irene (Dennis), Alex, Jason (Ally), Chantelle (Aaron), Bob, Jordie, Richard, Jennifer and the late Kimmy. Adored Auntie Ann to Connor, Taylor, Erica, Brooke, Braydon, Chloe, Dylan, Sophia, Paige & Mason.
Ann was born in Oshawa, Ontario and raised in Cobourg, Ontario. Growing up in Cobourg Ann enjoyed many summers on the beach with her family. She also loved playing baseball and coaching with her father. She also loved shopping with her mother. Ann later attended Loyalist Collage for Child and Youth Services before settling in the Ottawa area to start a family of her own.
Family mattered most to Ann. Even in the face of mental health challenges, she remained strong for her boys and the people she loved. She was active in contributing to her community and would often be found volunteering at the local fair. Ann would also write letters to the editor of local papers to shed light on matters that concerned those she loved the most. Ann will be forever missed by her faithfully devoted little dog Misty-Rose.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday November 4, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King Street East, Cobourg.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to, can make a memorial donation to CMHA.
