Jose Doris Richter

July 24, 1932 - June 17, 2023

A proud woman Jose Richter (nee Willshaw) with a strong character and morality has left this earth on Saturday, June 17th 2023 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Wolfgang “Rick” Richter. Cherished mother of Ruth-Anne Richter and Mark Richter (Sarah). Loving grandmother of Hannah Richter (Zachary Lurk), Aidan Richter, and Owen Richter. Predeceased by her siblings Yvonne Werdekker (the late Koos) and Albert Willshaw (the late Audrey).
Jose was an educator who, through her work and dedication, touched the lives of many. Her legacy will live on through the people she taught and influenced in the educational field. She was respected by her colleagues as a fierce, passionate individual who stood for what is right. In her teaching her tenet was to provide the framework from which ideas could develop and evolve. For her dedication and service to teaching, Jose was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee medal.
In life, Jose was dedicated to her family and to her friends. When with her beloved sister, Yvonne, their antics were a lot to be reckoned with, and will be remembered fondly. Jose was an indomitable force, and will be missed terribly. Her dry sense of humour and selflessness among other traits will long be missed.
At Jose’s request there will be cremation without services. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the CNIB Guide Dog Programme www.cnib.ca

Dear Rick & Family We're so very sorry to read of Jose's passing. A wonderful lady and we felt fortunate to have enjoyed both (Rick) of your friendships while living on Marisa Lane. We always admired her determination to get the most out of each day and to show gratitude and kindness for those surrounding her. May loving memories help you during the difficult days ahead.

I was so very fortunate to be reconnected with Josie a little later after working with her early in my teaching career while our school developed their curriculum. She inspired so many of us as teachers! She was a beautiful lady with a beautiful heart!

Auntie José will be missed by us all. It was Christmas 2013 when we saw her last, in Florida. We often think of the lovely times we had together. And indeed of the mischievous stories of her and my mother Yvonne. Best wishes to everyone. Love Liesbeth, David and Hannah
