Linda passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2023 at the age of 72, surrounded by her loving family. She fought an admirable battle against dementia for years. She will be eternally missed by her loving husband of over 50 years, Bill. Missed deeply by her children Raegan (Alex), Ashlea and Jason (Amanda) and her grandchildren Nolan, Liam, Adelaide and Delilah. Linda’s mother was Viola Agnes Irving whom she was very close to, and her father was Frederick Gokey. Linda had many uncles and aunts on the Irving side of the family, and she was closest to her Auntie Muriel and Auntie Joyce.
Linda was born in Montreal and was handed a setback early in life by contracting polio, most of her body survived the disease however she was left with a paralyzed right arm (affectionately known as her “baby arm”). This didn’t stop her from having a productive life, getting married and then giving birth to three beautiful babies, loving and caring for them, working outside the home when the kids were old enough and when the family needed that support. Linda loved going for long walks with Bill and the family dog, her most beloved being Penni. She enthusiastically exercised on workout equipment while listening to upbeat dance music. Linda loved to bake, especially muffins of all sorts (zucchini, banana, chocolate chip being one of her most delicious), and we all loved them. She enjoyed being in the garden, enjoying a glass of wine on the deck with Bill and travelling to visit family. Her strength, dedication and independence were admired by all who knew her.
We are heartbroken, however we are content knowing that Linda is now at peace and that we will meet her again one day.

Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Sending huge hugs your way. Xo
Our condolences go out to Linda’s family and we share in their overwhelming grief. She was so brave and courageous. We always enjoyed Linda’s company as she was so full of life, energetic, a great story teller, and always so much fun. It didn’t matter what the topic, she always had something very interesting to say. We remember fondly of the days that we would meet Linda, Bill and Penny on one of their daily walks as they passed our home and we would have lovely long chats. We had some really fun family get together‘s, including a New Year’s Eve twice, a great Fathers Day, and a really wonderful Canada Day. Linda had a great sense of humour, very witty, loved to laugh and was very kind and generous,… always trying to help if she could. Linda was that heart and soul that gave Doug’s mom that breath of happiness every time they met. We are sure they are now embracing in the reunion of each other. We will miss her terribly. May she rest in peace, let the sun shine upon her, and hope she’s baking some goodies with her mom and her auntie Muriel……until we meet again dear friend. Love you.
Our deepest condolences to you and the family. Please know we are thinking of you all and send our love during this difficult time.
Although heartbreaking to lose a beautiful soul, happy for the life she had. It was nice that her and Bill got so much time together.
My heartfelt condolences go out to Bill and all of the family for the loss of such amazing lady.
