It is with heavy hearts the family of Doris Vavere announce her peaceful passing at the Peterborough Regional Health Hospital February 17, 2023 at the age of 66. She is the former partner of Lyle Tessier and Alfredo Perri. Through these partnerships she was able to be the proudest mother to her greatest gifts in life, her children. She was the loved mother to Jessica (Michael Tapscott) Tessier and Luigi Perri and deeply loved Oma to Mason Tapscott. Doris will be incredibly missed by her sisters Anita Vavere, Alice Settembrini and Irene Tessier. Loved aunt to Christina Settembrini, Irma Settembrini, Jenny Tessier-Bryning, Greg Tessier, Cherie Tessier and Billy Tessier. Cousin of Harold (Sue) Bugsch. Niece of Anita Bugsch and loved daughter of Irma Schmidt and Haralds Vavere. Doris has now joined her family members in heaven including her beloved parents, Aunt Anita, and sister Irene. Doris was a kind hearted child of God who touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 18, 2023 at MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Lounge from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or Diabetes Canada.

Luigi and Jess, Mike and Mason: Words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. A mother’s bond with her children is unbreakable. We hope that you will remember the love she had for you and that you cherish her wisdom, grace and strength that was demonstrated to you during her life. It was a privilege to have known Doris. May you find inner strength to handle yet another challenge. XO

To The Family and other Friends We Doris's Friends and Neighbours at 86 Monroe St offer our Love and Sincerest Condolences to All Who Knew Her. Doris was a very special part of our lives and she touched the hearts of everyone of us. She was a very special happy person and we all spent many happy hours together from the exercise classes we used to do and just plain sitting outside and talking on warm summer nights. Jessica and Luigi, we are very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. She was a wonderful lady and we always enjoyed the chats that we had with her at the Housing office.

So sorry to hear about your loss and grief. I fondly remembered Doris as a creative person and someone who loved her crafts. She was a generous and loving person, always positive despite all the health issues. She will be sorely missed.
