Hazel Arlene Lyons

September 20, 1937 - May 11, 2023

Hazel Arlene Lyons (nee Craft) passed peacefully Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Northumberland Hills Hospital at the age of 85. Her family takes peace in knowing that she is now free of any illness and has once again been reunited with her cherished husband John Lyons who pre-deceased her in 2014. She was the loved mother to Michael (Lori) Lyons and Christopher Lyons. Cherished grandmother to Jennifer (Ryan O’Hearn) Lyons-O’Hearn and great-grandmother to Gavin and Caden O'Hearn. Hazel will be deeply missed by her siblings, in laws and extended family. Born and raised in the village of Norton New Brunswick, her heart always belonged to her East Coast upbringing. Hazel faced many adversities and challenges in her life. But she loved her family to the best of her ability. The family would like to thank the staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital for their compassionate and gentle care of Hazel. A private family graveside service will be held at Baltimore United Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.

MESSAGES OF CONDOLENCE / DONATIONS

Caroline S - June 10, 2023

My condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of meeting Hazel at Rosewood. She talked so fondly of her boys and her husband. She was loved by all the staff and PSW's and I was so sad to hear of her passing. I will miss her. I am glad she is no longer suffering and can be at peace with her dear husband. I will miss her giggle when I went in to help her by trying to make it fun. RIP Hazel you are one of a kind and will be missed by many.

To all the Family. If this is Hazel who once worked at the Royal Bank in Port Hope. I was the cleaning contractor for many years there and Hazel we reported to. Hazel was a wonderful woman. Always a pleasure to deal with and always thought of my wife and I at Christmas time and would always leave a little "gift" for us. I have never forgotten this Lady. Sorry for your Loss.
