All the years working with you, Joe at Hoo Lee Gardens. First thing you do wash the kitchen floor so you could get out early, at a busy hour, so we would come in the kitchen in a hurry and land on a wet floor. You would laugh like hell. Sarcastic remarks and jokes will be remembered always. We are in disbelief, you worked so hard, it just does not seem fair. All the multi-tasking jobs we did together. Never to be forgotten. You would introduce Dave to people as your Dad, rub his bald head for good luck, then big smile and the laugh. You are an original. Never forget you Joe. Till we meet again. Such a kind heart.

I know you'll find comfort in reflecting on how his life impacted you and others. Take care.

G.D. Gerry Bungay Sr. - February 24, 2023

Ted Amsden - February 24, 2023

As a newspaper reporter for over two decades covering events and issues in Cobourg, not everybody was happy to see me or forthcoming with smiles. Joe always greeted me with a smile and if I asked what he thought about an issue he would have an answer. In a low key manner, he wasn't a skeptic but he didn't necessarily buy into whatever was the popular talking point about what was going on at town hall.
