I had the privilege to work for Mike and his business partner Gord with Partak in the early eighties. I met up with him once again in the last 5 years and he shared his health struggles at a fundraiser. My condolences to the family. Mike was a true businessman and a great employer.

We were so saddened to learn of Michael’s illness and now, his death. It was nonetheless, wonderful to see and hear him on Friday via Zoom at Rotary. He relished in the attention that Holly and Hope were paying him and tolerating his “princess’ as Karen maneuvered the camera. His dry wit and sense of humour remained as evident in his reply to Dr. Bob’s speech. He was an ardent Rotarian with a particular dedication to youth through Camp Enterprise and Youth Exchange. Many young and now not so young continue to benefit from that dedication. He has left a lasting legacy not only in his family but in so many others. So much to grieve and so much to celebrate! I only made Michael's acquaintance when I dropped in at the Cobourg Rotary meeting at the end of September 2022. He was immediately welcoming, gracious, enthusiastic and it was through his energy and skills that I zipped along in the process and became a Rotarian on November 4th. He was very supportive of my international priorities and finding a way to increase Rotary support for the Palestinian health care system. He won't be physically present when I make my classification speech but most definitely there in spirit and I will dedicate it to him. And I will always remember to cover my tea cup with my saucer to keep the tea warm at Rotary lunches. Rest in peace thou good and faithful servant!
