It is with profound sadness that the family of Judith Hickey announces her passing at the age of 81 of pancreatic cancer, peacefully at home in Cobourg with the family by her side. Judy was born in Montreal to the late Geraldine and Fred Harrison. She was also predeceased by her brother Richard (Sherrill). Judy was the beloved wife and best friend of David William for 59 years, loving mother of Susanne and Stephen, and dear sister of Gwynneth Harrison. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Linda McKenzie (the late David), nephew Peter McKenzie (Susan), and nieces Anne Fullerton (Greg) and Heather McKenzie (Sonas Choi). Judy was a multi-faceted woman who carried on family traditions with her superb culinary skills and flair for entertaining, her understated elegance, a penchant for orderliness, and most of all her thoughtful and kind nature. For years she volunteered with several organizations. She managed Meals on Wheels in Aurora, ON for several years. In Millbrook, ON she managed the Red Cross Equipment Loan program, organized the Millbrook Historical Society’s House & Garden Tours, and was instrumental in securing not-for-profit status for that Society. Most recently, she was an active member of the Inner Wheel in Cobourg. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Judy’s name to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. We would like to thank the staff of the Northumberland Hills Hospital and, in particular, Dr. F. Mulé for his incredible care and compassion in Judy’s final days.
Susanne and family, Thoughts and prayers to you all. Know that mum is smiling down on you all and she will always be with you. Zahida

Dear Dave, Susanne and Stephen Our deepest condolences to you all on the recent passing of Judy. May your memories give you peace strength and comfort during this challenging time
Dear Family of Judy, We were very saddened to hear of Judy's recent passing. We learned of it from long-time friend for both Judy and Donna - Margaret Hofmann (Errey). Donna and Judy go back a long time to their teens, and Donna has often talked fondly of an "ancient" rail visit to Judy's "second home" in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia many years ago. Age and distance have kept them apart for many years now, but the good memories remain, so our condolences for Dave and Judy's family are sent with the knowledge that Judy will be remembered for the fine and creative person she was, and the many lives she has touched over the years. Sincerely. Donna and Ian Craig - Pickering.
Dear David, Susanne, Stephen and Gwyn, Judy was an endearing and beautiful soul. She was the epitome of grace, creativity and kindness. Her devotion to family and those she loved was one of the great hallmarks of her life. I am grateful for her friendship and for her being part of my life. My love and thoughts are with you all, Sherrill Rand Harrison, Indian Point Nova Scotia

To Dave & Family My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your dear wife Judy & Mother to her children. Whenever you met Judy she always had a warm smile & kind word to say to one, whether at the Lawn Bowling Club working on the flower pots or in an aisle in the grocery store.
To Susanne and Family. Sending my sincere condolences during this sad, difficult time. Although I did not personally know your mother Judith, during many walks on the Magna campus over the years with Susanne, your closeness and respect for her was very much noted. I hope that she is now in a more peaceful place and that memories of good times together will help you through your grief. With respect, Diana Maltby

My heartfelt condolences to David, Susanne, Stephen and Gwyn. Judy was a graceful, kind and giving Lady - one of a kind, indeed. She set an example to all who knew her. A challenge to emulate, if at all! Her unique spirit will remain guarded in my heart and soul - never to be forgotten.
So heartbreaking. The Hickeys are like family to us and played such a huge role in my childhood and who I am today. I will forever cherish all my memories when I was a little girl with Mrs. Hickey teaching me how to bake and cook, going into town and going shopping, tucking me in at night, teaching me about horses and so so much more. I love you all so very much and I am forever grateful for everything you all have done with and for us ❤️❤️ I'll always remember the amazing taste of her pasta salad and the excitement I felt when she gave me the recipe in high-school, or making zucchini chocolate cake that I still crave and Mr. Hickey at the table grinding the zucchini while Mrs. Hickey and I laughed and baked away ❤️ I am so sorry such a kind, wonderful loving soul, woman, and mother has left this world, sending all the thoughts and prayers to the family ❤️❤️❤️ Rest in peace Mrs. Hickey ❤️❤️ love you forever ❤️🕊
Dave and family; our deepest condolences. We enjoyed many hours of lawn bowling with both of you. I treasure the hours Judy and I spent together in the kitchen and the flowers at the club loved her touch. She was indeed a special lady.
Dear David, Bruce and I were so very sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. She was a truly lovely lady. May your wonderful memories bring you comfort in the days and weeks ahead.

Words fail to express the heartbreak Frank and I feel to learn of Judy’s sudden devastating health crisis that has led to her passing. Judy was a pivotal part of my childhood. We shared so many dreams and concerns. When were we ever going to stop growing? (Each of us was always the tallest in our classes.) What would we be doing when we grew up? Our final Halloween outing together - Judy the groom to my bride - was such fun and so memorable. Merely a few years later Judy was being voted Princess of her Maritime university - early recognition of what would become known as her stellar qualities. Even before she was a teenager Judy had been the gentle, caring, kind and thoughtful girl that she remained throughout her life. I will be forever grateful for having had her in my life - then, and across the miles throughout the intervening years. The loss of her now feels enormous. But the beauty that was Judy - from the inside out - can only remain. She was a precious gift in our lives. Frank and I hold all of Judy’s family in our hearts in this time of all too real sorrow. We loved you, Judy.
This is incredibly sad. We, Myra and I, remember going for our morning walk and there, as most routine, were the Hickey’s walking north as we were walking south. Then came the usually chatter, between us, either of a political note or some sort of nonsense stuff and then slowly we would meander on. It was always fun and enjoyable. Our condolences to you three as you move into your new circumstance. Peter 🙏
My sincere condolences to the Hickey family, I only met Judy a couple times, such a graceful soul, with her beautiful daughter and son, Steve. Judy had a special presence with her. God send peace to your family, may you all remember Judy and the great memories with Judy. Love from Steve's great friend, Don and the Patterson family
I am devastated to hear the news of Judy. We became good friends on a cruise and have corresponded ever since. Geoff my late Husband and I visited in Canada and were able to stay with Judy and Dave for a few days, and that was a very special time. My sincere thoughts go to Stephen and Susanne and to Dave for their loss and all my love, Jann Howard Australia.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Judy's passing. My deepest condolences to everyone. Thinking of you, love and hugs from Clemy, Olivia and Sophia
Dear Gywnn I'm so sorry to learn of your sisters passing. You and your family are in my prayers. Eunice
Dear Dave, Susanne and Stephen, Mike and I were heartbroken to hear of Judy’s passing. She was a kind, loving lady and a wonderful neighbour. I will miss chatting with her while we walked the neighbourhood. Mike will miss chatting with Judy at the end of the driveway and convincing her she could use more vegetables (zucchini) from the garden. She made a lasting impression on us and we are so glad to have known her.
On behalf of the Millbrook & Cavan Historical Society and all of us who enjoyed the grace, the talents and the energy that Judith bestowed on us during her years here, I send sincere condolences to David, Susanne and Stephen, and all the family, for your difficult loss. Judy is part of the fabric here. Her unforgettable smile, her hospitality, and all the wonderful work she did to advance and enhance the appreciation of local history in our township, are woven into who we are as a community. We will miss her but treasure all that she gave us. We send our deepest sympathy.
Dear Dave and family, we are so sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. She was such a sweet and thoughtful lady..the epitome of Class..we always enjoyed visiting with her. Please take care, and know that you have a special Angel watching over you all now💞 Sending love & hugs from Kelly & Bill Smith, and Joan McMann
Miles and I are very saddened to hear of Judy's passing. I think of Dave and Judy often ... she was a lovely, kind person and the world is not as fine a place without her. One of my favorite pics that still hangs in our stable is with Dave, Judy, myself and Gord Wadds as my Awesome Mr Te colt had one of his many wins. Sending our condolences to Dave and her family.
Thinking of you all. Sending love and light during this difficult time. Much love.
Judy was such a lovely person. It was always a pleasure to lawn bowl with her or against her or have a pleasant chat whenever we met up. My sincere condolences to Dave and family.
To Dave and all Judy's family. It is with great sadness that we learned of your unbearable loss. We have so many great memories of Judy from our days of showing Prince Royale and the appaloosa horse shows. She was always wonderful. So generous and kind. In all beautiful inside and out. We are so grateful to have known Judy. Our hearts and prays are with you.
So sorry to hear that this woman, whose beauty was way more than skin deep, is no longer with us. My memories of Judith are deepest in my Nova Scotia boyhood when Grandmother Strum would spend part of the winter with us in Hantsport or Yarmouth and summertime would involve some time spent in Mader's Cove, Mahone Bay. My thoughts are with all of you today. Cousin Allan (Strum) Davis.
We are shocked and saddened by Judy's passing. She was a wonderful person and dear friend. We had so many fun times at horse shows over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Dear David and family. We offer our deepest sympathy at the passing of Judy. She was a wonderful gentle woman who gave so much of herself to others. When we met over the years she was always smiling. This comes as an incredible shock to all who knew her. May she be at peace.
Our condolences to Dave, Susanne, Stephen and other family members. We thought the world of Judy. She was always kind and gracious. We love you and are thinking of you during this difficult time.
Dear David, Stephen and Susanne. As a friend of Judith's in Inner Wheel, I am very sorry for your profound loss. Our club seem to suit Judith, and we in turn enjoyed her friendship and faithful participation in our activities to raise money for local charities. We will miss her. May the grace of God be with you all always.
I was so sad to hear of Judith‘s passing. We met and worked together in Inner Wheel and Judith brought elegance and flare in whatever she did. My sincere condolences to Judith‘s family.
