Charles "Charlie" Joseph Black

April 11, 1964 - May 21, 2022

Charlie was taken from us far too soon on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the age of 58. Cherished son of Carol and the late Cliff Black. Loving brother of Carrie (“Oscar”) and Gerry Ward. Proud uncle of Jesse and Hayden. Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Charlie lived in Cobourg for most of his life. He was a painter by trade. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed sports and the outdoors. You would often find him out in his chair soaking in the sunshine and cookin' up something on the BBQ. Charlie was always up for a “sociable” and a good chat with friends or family. You would often see him touring around town on his bike – always with a smile and a wave. Charlie was a free spirit and he lived life simply and on his own terms. He lived his life to the fullest and appreciated even the little everyday things. He was truly one of a kind. We will always love you Charlie and we miss you every day. Dad's got you Bud.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those involved in bringing Charlie home. We are very grateful.

Cremation was entrusted to MacCoubrey Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cobourg Legion on Saturday July 9th. 2022 from 1-4 pm.

Hey " Larry " never though it would go this way " Pizon " . You saved my life in 2005 , I would not be writing this today and our oldest daughter would have not known her father if not for you quick thinking .My biggest regret today is that I was not able to help you . It was a pleasure to have hunted , fished and played hockey with you for the last 30 years . You and I did most of the leg work with the hounds in the woods and learned from each other . You always had quite a time batteling with the beavers and one of my best memories is when you busted out the dam at your favorite place " The Marsh Runway " . You had taken a rake and shovel from camp . The next morning of the deer hunt Don Stanley was watching that dam and noticed the beavers had used your rake and shovel to build the dam back up overnight Lol . On behalf of " Deer River Hunt Camp " our condolences go out to Charlie's family . We all enjoyed many, many good times with him and he was well respected by all and there was always a sense of security with his presence . I will continue to carry on the tradition knowing that I will be traveling in the footprints of a very good friend . Not many men ever get a chance to take a moose , you were at 12 and counting , well done bud !
