It is with heavy hearts the family of Byron Reader announce his passing on Monday, March 28, 2022. Byron passed peacefully surrounded in the love of his family at the Northumberland Hills Hospital at the age of 74. He will be deeply missed by his wife Pauline Reader (nee: Clarke) of 55 years. Cherished father to Todd and Michelle (Jeff). Loved grandfather to Zachary, Kyle, Mackenzie and Brock. Loved brother to Aubern. Pre-deceased by his parents Wallace and May Reader as well as his brothers, Jim and Bill. A visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King Street East, Cobourg, Ontario K9A 1K7, Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held the following day Friday, April 1, 2022, at 12:00 PM at the Salvation Army 59 Ballantine Street, Cobourg, Ontario K9A 5G8. Following the service, a burial will take place at the Cobourg Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army and BREATHE the lung association.
I had the pleasure of being around Byron at Extendicare for 2 yrs. I am deeply saddened by his passing. My heart goes out to Pauline and his family. Byron was a joy to talk to, and always had a spark in his eyes.
