MESSAGES OF CONDOLENCE / DONATIONS

Lori - April 17, 2023

I worked with Melanie at CP Rail forty years ago. Forty years... I remember her upbeat nature, her friendliness and kind personality, skating at City Hall at lunch time with her, sharing silly stories. I remember her being pregnant with Emma. Somewhere along the way, we lost track of each other, but I thought of her many times throughout the years. I decided to do an online search today to see if I could find her. I recognised her photo and big smile immediately, the years did not show on her face. Shocked and saddened to learn of her loss. She was one of 'the good ones'. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Mark Reszczynski - April 5, 2023

I would like to offer my condolence to the Goacher family and friends. It has been many years. I met Melanie when I was dating her sister Alison Louise in the mid 1970's. I remember Melanie as a happy beautiful young woman in love with life. Learning to drive, camping, seeking employment, not waiting to be an at home wife, different from many women of that time, "independent". After, if not for the entanglements, I would have wanted to be that special person in her life. I feel I missed out sharing my life with an incredible person. Hearing of her passing was exceptionally difficult for me and still is. May she go with God.

I first met Melanie about 20 years ago on a ride through the Northumberland Hills. Wayne McRoberts (who was also on that ride) and I talked Melanie into joining our cycling club, the Ganaraska Freewheelers. She has been a wonderful member of our club over the years and we will all dearly miss her. Mich, her husband-to-be, was also a member of the Freewheelers, and that's how they met! Melanie's positive enthusiasm was infectious and she contributed so much to the success of our cycling group. It was an honour indeed to get to know this remarkable lady.

Dear Mich, Emma and all the family, Thinking of all of you at this difficult time. I met Melanie when we worked at CP together back in 1980/81. Melanie stayed on with "Mr. Madge" for many years! I went on to supposedly greener pastures but we kept in touch. Sometimes months would go by, sometimes years, but when we got together it was like no time had passed at all. Melanie was that kind of friend and I loved her for it and always will. Lots of love, Therese
