Died peacefully surrounded by family at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Friday, December 17th, William Chidley at 81 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Jeannette Marie Anne Chidley (nee Lauzon). Loving father of Elizabeth Sheedy, Chris Chidley (Judy), and Joe Chidley. Cherished grandfather of Abbe, Emma, Jacob, Kyle, and Carter. Predeceased by his brother Jim. Cremation with a Public Celebration of Life Gathering at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King St. E. Cobourg on Monday December 27th, from 2 to 4 pm. Those planning to attend the Celebration will need to provide proof of full vaccination at the door to achieve entry. Due to Covid restrictions all guests will need to adhere to the wearing of masks, contact tracing, and building capacity limitations. A private family interment will take place at Cobourg Union Cemetery. The Chidley family would like to thank the NHH Emergency Short Stay Unit and Dr. Mulé. Those wishing may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.
My late condolences to all the Chidley famalies on learning of Charles is passing. Charles always offered a friendly hello & a good conversation. A quiet yet strong character of a man. RIP

Wonderful memories of this fellow. Fireside singing, dancing in the cottage. Was so happy to celebrate the first grandchild with early morning champagne .The times and festivities with this man were definitely a treasured chapter in our book of life. We are so sorry for your loss.
