Norma Velda Crockett

September 10, 1935 - October 5, 2021

Norma passed away in the arms of her loving family on Tuesday October 5th, 2021 in her 87th year. Pre-deceased by her parents Hazel & Basil. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Crockett. Loving mother of Wayne Crockett (deceased) (Ellen) of Kingston, Linda Sherwin (Scott) of Edmonton AB, Penny Day (Marvin) of Castleton, Wendy Martin (John) of Brantford, Sandy Tice (Terry) of Oshawa. Devoted and cherished grandma of David, Tabitha, Zakery, Nathan, Joe, Shardelle, Adam, Megan, Charlene and Samantha, Maggie and Annie. Known as GG to 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Survived by her sister Edith Jarvis and sisters-in-law Gloria and Grace. Pre-deceased by siblings Jack, Mac, Isabel, Naydine, Elva and Eldon. Anyone that knew mom knew not to disturb her on a Saturday night. With cigarette in hand and a full pot of coffee, she’d be watching the Leaf’s game! She was a true die-hard fan right to the end. GO LEAFS GO!! A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 9th in Castleton. A private interment will be held at a later date at Colborne Union Cemetery. If desired donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation.

When I die, Give what’s left of me away
To children, And old men that wait to die.

And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother
Walking the street beside you
And when you need me, Put your arms
Around anyone, And give to them
What you need to give me.

I want to leave you something,
Something better, Than words
Or Sounds.

Look for me, In the people I’ve known, Or loved
And if you cannot give me away,
At least let me live in your eyes, And not on your mind.

You can love me most
By letting, Hands touch hands
By letting, Bodies touch bodies
And by letting go
Of children, that need to be free.

Love doesn’t die, People do.
So, when all that’s left of me
Is love, Give me away.

Until we meet again, bye bye bye-bye.

To The Entire Crockett Family There are no words to adequately express the loss of Norma. Not only was she a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother & even great great grandmother- she was a wonderful & cherished friend. Whenever anyone needed her- she was always there. We shared so much over the years- laughter & tears, happiness & sorrow. I have a magnet on my fridge which Norma gave to me many years ago which reads You’ll Always Be My Friend - You know too much! You were right Norma. I will forever be your friend. I will miss you for eternity. Till we meet again. Rest In Peace! No more pain. ❤️

Linda, Scott, and family, Penny, Marvin and family, and the other sisters we often heard about from Norma. We are so sorry to hear of Norma's passing. She was always so good to Ricky when he was just a toddler and Linda was his devoted daycare person. We mentioned to Ricky that Norma had passed, and of course he doesn't remember, but Rick and I do with fond memories. And the local grandkids were all so good to him too. It seems Norma's house was the place to be. May Norma rest well. Our sympathy to you all. Kathy and Rick, and Ricky.
