Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Margaret. Devoted father of Julie, John (Grace), Christopher (Adam) and Paul, and grandfather of Madeleine. Uncle of Irene Burtinsky. Family always was Ed's highest priority. Ed will be remembered by many treasured friends and family.
Ed enjoyed volunteering and helping others, enjoyed golfing and playing cards. A private family mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Grafton on Saturday August 14th, 2021. A reception will be held at the Columbus Community Centre, Cobourg on Saturday August 14th, 2021 at 1 pm. Many thanks to Dr. Mule, Dr. Philip Stratford and the Palliative Care staff of Northumberland Hills Hospital. Memorial donations to Northumberland Hills Hospital would be appreciated.

I first met Ed shortly after joining General Foods in 1967, and was proud to be "adopted" by him and Marg. In the more than fifty years since then, we like so many others have been blessed with their friendship. What a fine family he and Marg have raised and we pray that Julie, John, Chris and Paul will continue to offer their mom all the support they have provided to her and Ed over the years. Ed, we'll miss you immensely.

I remember a time, meeting Ed at the stop light at Divison Street and Veronica. We spoke to each other briefly, revving our engines, signalling for what was to come. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ed. Both of you have been good friends over the years. Remembering some of our camping days. Ed was my shift partner for quite a few years at General Foods. Time passes so fast but memories last.
