It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Allan Bentley, in his 89th year, at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg.
Predeceased by his loving wife Patricia after 66 years of marriage and loved by his children Lois, Diane (Bill), Sandy and Joe (Debbie). Predeceased by his son Bruce
and siblings Frank, Roly, Edna, and Evelyn. He was a proud grandfather of Mike, Tom, Justin and Haley and great grandfather of Kaitlyn, Briar and Benjamin.
Al’s passion for photography captured many wonderful memories for family and friends that will be forever treasured and he will be dearly missed by all.
Special thanks to Christine Thickson for her wonderful care and friendship and the staff and caregivers at Palisade Gardens who looked after him so well.
Cremation has taken place. At Al’s request, there will be no visitation or memorial service.

My thoughts are with Al's family and friends. He was a wonderful colleague when we worked together at UCCL. Many of us were fresh out of university and he taught us that calm professionalism and humour were the best way to enjoy work and life.
Diane- your Dad took my picture twice with my husband Garry. Two pictures that I feel captured our essence. He was kind to me and a gentle man. You are lucky to have had such a man for your father. We are sorry for your loss.
My deepest sympathy to the family. Al was a great friend of the chamber of commerce when I managed it. He was always there with an extra pair of hands and his camera. He was a true gentleman and he and Pat were a wonderful addition in our community. Sincerely Carol Farren

I am very sorry for your loss. Al was such a nice man. I enjoyed doing work for him and Pat at their home.
We met Pat and Al when they first moved to Cobourg and came to our yard sale. We chatted for almost an hour. Such a lovely couple - very saddened to hear of Al's passing. His love for his family and especially Pat was evident in every conversation.

Our condolences to your family. Al & Pat were such good people and friends of my mother and father. My kids enjoyed going over to their place these last 8 years or so, and helping them decorate their Christmas tree. I will always remember wherever you saw Al, no matter where it was, he always wanted a hug! He will be missed!

Al was loved by everyone that knew him. He was a gentleman, kind & thoughtful. Growing up on Marshall Blvd. there are many happy memories of Pat, Al & the family visiting & bringing lots of joy with them. Al & Pat will be happy to be together again!💕
