Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Wednesday January 20th, 2021, Al Andrulionis at 79 years of age. Beloved husband of Jean “Donne” Andrulionis (nee Murray). Loving father of Jeanne Thomas (Sean) and Marne Holloway (Gary). Cherished grandfather of Ellen Thomas (Riley McAdams), Greg Thomas (Megan Kidd), and Tanner Holloway. Uncle Al to Sean, Kelly and Dan Armstrong.
Born in Lithuania and displaced by World War II, Al immigrated to Canada together with his parents Vincas and Eleonora, his Aunt Julie and sister Dalia Armstrong (Belmont, ON). His family ran a successful tobacco farming business in Rodney, ON. Educated at the University of Western Ontario’s Business School and McMaster University. Al is the inventor of the plastic press-on and removable lid for drinking cups. Together Al and Donne continued to manufacture bottle caps for almost 40 years in Oakville.
Al’s kindness and sense of humour will be remembered by many. A gentle, patient and mindful man who enjoyed history, learning about and sharing stories of life experiences and the wonders of nature. He was always completely present in conversation and enjoyed sharing over a Czechvar. His “never give up” and “we’ll figure it out” attitude guided him throughout his life as new challenges presented. A casual meander, high fives, and many other memorable sayings will be forever in our hearts. “Gourmet Dining!” “You are Amazing!” “Holy, this is Serious,” and most importantly “Always Keep Your Sense of Humour,” will continue to give us strength and make us smile in the days ahead.
Cremation with later interment by family. Memorial donations to Northumberland Hills Hospital including a special “shout out” please to the Nursing Team on 2A for their kind and loving care during his final days.

Jeanne, we remember back with pleasure to meeting your Mom and Dad at yours and Sean's 25th. They seemed like pretty cool folks and loving parents and definitely lots of you in them. I know you will miss your Dad a whole lot. You have shared much of your parent's later life journey with me and so I feel a connection to them and your Dad's departure. As we all continue along this aging journey, it seems that while varied, the stories are also taking on a similarity, that I find comforting. Jean, please accept Barbara's and mine deepest condolences on the passing of your life partner - the love will always linger. As well to the rest of the family we wish you all peace, strength and vulnerability during this time. Scott and Barbara
