Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday January 17th, 2021 in her 71st year. Beloved wife of Carl Smith. Loving mother of Mike (Erin) and Angie (Shawn). Dear grandmother of Micah, Jaxon, Lenox and Maxwell. Sister of Shirley and the late Ken, Clarence, and Carole and sister-in-law of Janice. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews Melanie, Jen, Joe (Tara-Ann), Ryan, Adam, and the late Chris and their families. A private family service will be held in the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Tuesday January 26th at 2 pm. The service may be viewed on our website at www.MacCoubrey.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Carl and family, Merrill and I (formerly of 649 Prince of Wales, Cobourg but now in Newfoundland) send our sincere condolences on Barb's passing. Such sad news indeed. We enjoyed the neighbourliness you and Barb extended to us during our time in Cobourg. It was always nice chatting and visiting with you. Barb was so full of life. It is hard to believe her time here is over. Cherish your memories and find comfort in knowing she is at peace enjoying her eternal reward.
Carl and Family: We are so sorry to hear the news of Barb's passing. We often spoke outside of our homes when we first moved to Cobourg. Barb did have a delightful laugh. We'll always remember her walking down the sidewalk in her bare feet, guiding little ducklings towards the pond!
I wish I could be there with you all to honour Auntie Barb. My memories of her are joyful, kind, fun and a little sassy;) She will be missed so deeply. Bless her heart. And bless your hearts as you change as a result of losing a special lady. You are her legacy. What a beautiful gift she gave this world.
