The only child of Viola May (Issard) and John Elgin Currie. John was the much loved husband of Dorothy (Dawson) and predeceased by wife Dolores (Greenwood.) Loved and loving father of Nancy Nudd and her husband Donald of Johannesburg, South Africa, and Carolyn Yeomans and her husband Owen of Napier, New Zealand. Grandad to Carolyn's daughter Kirstin Mitchell, and Great Grampa to Caitlin and Zac, all of Burnaby, British Columbia. John will be sadly missed by life-long friends Paul Aymong, Toronto, Pitt Warner of San Diego, California, as well as cousins in Toronto, Wingham and Saskatchewan. Following cremation, a private service will be held in the Spring when family members are able to assemble. John's family want very much to express their sincere appreciation to everyone who made his life so happy and comfortable with their care, kindness and prayers, cards, gifts and particularly the time shared with him in visits to the hospital. You cannot know how much this meant to him and to his family. Thanks also for the great support given to Nancy and Dorothy, and for the superlative care provided by Access, V.O.N nurses, and Saint Elizabeth workers; K.R.C.C. staff and the Thousand Island Lodge in Kingston, as well as the volunteer Cancer Drivers. A very special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit of Northumberland Hills Hospital, for the two weeks of their special brand of T.L.C., and to Dr. Haukioja for his support. John would wish that any memorial gifts be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to our great Northumberland Hills Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
