Comeau, Teresa Lena ?Tess? At Landmark Extendicare, Cobourg, on November 30, 2004. Teresa (nee Carney) wife of the late Alphonse Comeau. Loving mother of Kathleen (Kay) and her husband John Bonvie of Kingston, Louis and his wife Heather of Cobourg and Bernard and his wife of Michelle of Peterborough. Dear grandmother of Bradley, Jaime, J.P. Comeau, Joan and her husband Brian Gowsell, Kelly and her husband Norman Schwehr, Andy Bonvie and his wife Beth and Cory Bonvie and his wife Sherry. Mrs. Comeau will also be missed by her 11 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren and her nephew Patrick King of Ireland. Born and raised in rural County Clare, Ireland, Tess lived and worked in England during WWII. Here she met and married her Canadian military husband. In 1946 she immigrated to Canada. After a series of military postings, the family came to Cobourg in 1959. Tess was devoted to her family and this was her prime focus. Visitors never left her home before having tea and cookies. She returned to her native Ireland only once. In 1992 Tess and her three children visited the old family peat farm and celebrated a memorable 80th birthday in Limerick. The family is most grateful to staff at Extendicare, Cobourg for the genuine, loving care provided to our mother over the past two years. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael's Church, Division St., Cobourg, on Friday December 3 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King St., East, Cobourg, on Thursday 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers on Thursday evening at 9 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial donations by cheque to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
