Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Sunday October 6th, 2019 in his 50th year. Beloved partner and best friend of Lonni Taylor. Loving father of Sabrina Jones (Joshua Fairman) and Colton Jones (Raven Hilts) and step-father of Raven Taylor (Jesse George) and Lincoln Dawe. Dear grandfather of Madeleine, Declan and Quinn. Loving son of Alvin Jones (Ann) and Glenna Mintha. Brother of Andrew Mintha (Erin Joron) and the late Michelle Taylor and step-brother of Kim Johnson and Chris Wilson. Uncle to Rhett Mintha. Son-in-law of Cathy Taylor and Brother-in-love to Amber, Clint, Becki and Kali. Step-uncle to Jade (Jessi), Cale (Lana), Ryan (Kyle), Payton, Cameron, Brodi and Joey. Derek will lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We can’t say thank you enough to Dr. Mulé and the nursing staff at NHH. A Celebration of Derek’s life will be held at the Cobourg Legion, 136 Orr St., Cobourg on Thursday October 10th from 6-9 pm.
