At her residence, on Monday July 29, surrounded by her family, Sandra MacCoubrey (nee Franks), wife of the late Robert MacCoubrey. Mother of Scott (Sandra), Janet (Kevin Burn), Sharon (Paul Mason), Kay (Steven Sherman). Grandmother of Jacob (Lauren), Matthew and David Burn; Melissa and Calum MacCoubrey; Mira and Kate Mason and Bobby, Ava and Riley Sherman. Predeceased by her brother Roy and his wife Eleanor Franks. She will also be missed by her devoted caregiver Mariela Mendoza. A funeral service will be held at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., East, Cobourg, on Saturday August 3 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow. Private interment Cobourg Union Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7-9 pm. Those wishing may make a memorial contribution to the Bob MacCoubrey Endowment Fund (NHH), Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre, or to Trinity United Church. Sandra & Bob were acquaintances, then friend's before Rick & I moved to Cobourg due to the active business & social events of the Bay of Quinte Funeral Association. It was after one of those Conferences we were attending that Bob called Rick to ask him if he wanted to come & work for him. After a couple of visits we moved to Cobourg. That was the best decision of our lives & remains so to this day.Bob & Sandra welcomed us with open arms. Assisting us in any way possible. Always checking in with us over the years asking if we were happy & if there was anyway they could help.Rick & I have such respect, appreciation & gratitude. MacCoubrey's was never just a job or a place to work. We felt like an important part of the business, part of the Colborne & Cobourg communities, part of the family.MacCoubrey's is such a huge part of our lives & always will be.Sandra's death is a huge loss for everyone who knew her, but the memories & love she shared will comfort you as she continues to watch over you.
