Peacefully in his sleep at home in Cobourg, on Monday June 3, 2019 at the age of 46. Beloved husband of Joyce Ivany-Shaw. Loving father of Dana Shaw, Taylor and Amanda Ivany. Cherished son of John and Ruby (nee Evans) and stepmother, Faye Shaw.Dear brother of Ronnie, stepbrother to Steven and Troy, and stepsister Tanya. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Darren had a zest for life and lived it to its fullest. He loved his family and friends, and wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone in need. He was a long-time member of the Port Hope yacht club, and had apassion for sailing and his cabin up north. A celebration of his life will take place this Saturday, June 8th, starting at 2pm (Darren’s family will be there from 2pm-5pm), at the Cat and the Fiddle Pub in Cobourg, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Condolences can be made through www.MacCoubrey.com.

I was so saddened to hear about Darren’s passing and although “Dunny” and I haven’t seen each other for 20 years or so, I often think of him. We shared many good times in our time at school together (all 14 years). He made me laugh more than almost anyone I have met. He was a great friend anda great guy. I am very sorry for your loss. To all who knew him,this was a complete shock. He will be truly missed by me and my family. I will remember Darren for his generousity and smiling face. And I will never forget the blackout a few years back when he opened his backyard up to the neighbours and he cook dinner for everyone on the bbq. That memory will remain with me forever.
