Emil Hibrant

Went home to be with his Lord and saviour on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at the age of 88.  Emil lived a full and faithful life, passing into glory one month shy of his birthday.  “Mel” was the beloved husband of Nancy for nearly 66 years.  Cherished father of Richard (Audrey), Gordon, Janice Nichols (Robert), and the late Douglas (survived by his wife Patty).  Treasured grandfather of Michael (Carling), Stephen (Sandra), Dale, Brittany (Alex), Jonathan (Jessica), David (Charity), Mitchel (Dianna), Travis (Amelia) and Braden (Dawn), and doting great grandfather of Adalynn, Georgia, and Malcolm.  Dearest brother of George (Dianne), Ann (the late Glen), Carrole (Hank), the late Vivian (late Walter), the late Walter (survived by his wife Elda), and the late Joseph (late Melba).  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.  Mel enjoyed a satisfying life working hard in his career path at Moffats/GSW and Ontim Investments, while taking delight in the cottage life with his dear family on Rice Lake.  Upon early retirement Mel and Nancy spent many wonderful years on Moore Lake in the Haliburton Highlands.  The final chapter of Dad’s earthly journey brought he and Nancy to Cobourg, Ontario where Mel completed a rich journey of faith at Fellowship Baptist Church.  Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Extendicare for their care and compassion, meeting Mel’s personal and medical needs with excellence.  A service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church 469 Elgin St. W., Cobourg on Saturday June 8, 2019 at 12 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time.  Burial will take place at Glendale Memorial Gardens 1810 Albion Rd., Etobicoke on Tuesday June 11.
