After a courageous battle with cancer, Joanne passed away peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital with her husband by her side on Friday May 17th, 2019 at 60 years of age. Beloved wife of Kenneth Stevenson. Loving mother of Sarah Bennett (Ryan) and cherished Nana of Shelby and Kallan. Loving step-mother of Cameron, Kendra Kerr (Chris) and Kandis Kapteyn (Ben) and cherished Nana of Xavier, Izaiah, Myla, Beau and Rowan. Dear daughter of Jennie Vanderwindt and the late Jack Vanderwindt. Beloved sister of Grace Walker (John), Robert Vanderwindt (Simone Beitler), Kenneth Vanderwindt and Michelle Vanderwindt (Matthew Phillips). She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews. Her contagious smile, sharp wit and sense of humour will be remembered by all who knew her. There will be a private family service. A celebration of life will be held at the Columbus Community Centre on Sunday June 23rd from 1 - 4:30 pm. We would like to thank Dr. Mule and the incredible nursing staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Northumberland Hills Hospital. They provided exceptional care for Joanne as well as guidance, comfort and support for all her family members.
