Victoria (Vikki) Jean Forsyth

Vikki passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her beloved home, The Old Manse.  She was adored by her wide circle of friends whether in Toronto, Northumberland County, Yorkshire, Hawaii, South Africa and elsewhere, and by her extended family, cousin Chris and Andrea and family and cousin Jon and Sophia and family, her uncle Allen in Britain and her aunt, Norma in Australia.  Vikki was an only child, born in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK to parents Marjorie (nee Bamber) and Edward Forsyth.  Vikki worked as a research chemist for British American Tobacco before emigrating to Canada in 1966. The thought of working in a laboratory did not really appeal and Vikki ended up at the CBC, Toronto, where she pursued a successful career until the early 90's in Television Drama. Vikki bought the Old Manse in the mid eighties and fell in love with Northumberland County and the surrounding area. She decided on yet another career change and returned to George Brown College full-time to pursue pottery. Mud always fascinated Vikki and she opened her own pottery studio in 1995.  Vikki will always be remembered for her deep loyalty and compassion to her friends, both two and four legged. Her wit, wonderful sense of humour and energy will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.  A memorial service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street E Cobourg January 15, 2017 at 1 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the PrimRose Donkey Sanctuary, 1296 Bowmanton Rd, Roseneath, ON and the Shelter of Hope Animal Services (cats and dogs), 2363 Theatre Rd S, Cobourg ON.  Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.
