March 3, 1957 - May 25, 2004

Austin, Douglas Clifford Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on May the 25th of 2004. Douglas, at the age of 47. Doug was a Fisheries Biology Grad from the University of Guelph. He became an avid flyfisher and tyer. He participated in the 1st FFC National Flyfishing Championship where he won the gold medal in the VIP Competition. Doug was the beloved husband of Nancy Simpson. Loving father of Lindsay, Meghan and Marin. Son of Aileen Austin and the late Ted Austin. Deeply missed by his sister Sandra, and her children Caitlyn, and Andrea, and brothers Marc and Ian (Brenda) and nephew Jake. Cherished Son-in-law of Jack and Anne Simpson. Beloved brother-in-law of Maureen (Almos), Richard (Karen), Jacqueline (Doug) and Christopher (Kim). Favourite uncle of Craig, Bryan, Michelle, Carleigh, Nicole, Stephen, Rory. A heartfelt thank-you to the wonderful, caring nursing staff at the NHH Palliative Care Unit - You are the Best! A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 27th , 2004 at 2 pm at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg.
