Peacefully on December 23, 2013, surrounded by her family at home after a long and wonderful life. Jo Oakman, widow of James Robert (Jim) Oakman. Beloved daughter of the late Lucy & Josh Martin. Loved mother of Sue, Shelley (Paul), Sharon (Rob) and Jimmy. Predeceased by her son Robbie. Nana will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Miranda & Spencer Taylor, Josh Oakman Allen and Tayla & Tori Oakman. Sister of Esther Hunter and Ruby Walkerdine. Sister-in-law to Janette (Dick Barlow). At Jo's request, there will be no visitation or service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Jo has requested that memorial donations be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, or the charity of one's choice.
