Helen Cortesis

CORTESIS, Helen - Helen Cortesis passed away peacefully on Monday April 29th at the Northumberland Hills Hospital at the age of 80. She was born in Mitchell and grew up in Caledonia, Ontario. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Peter Cortesis . She will be deeply missed by her sons and daughters in law, Michael & Elizabeth Cortesis and Harry & Andrea Cortesis. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Peter (Elizabeth), Nicole (William), Elaine (Matt), Alexandra, Peter (Karla) and her great grandson Jordan. She will also be missed by her siblings Jim & Eva Vlachos (Caledonia), Lou & Felix Smidt (Hamilton), Marion Argerous (Simcoe), and predeceased by Ted Vlachos, Beatrice Leousis and her parents Harry and Kaliope Vlachos. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Helen was the co founder of Cortesis Jewellers and spent many wonderful times in downtown Cobourg. She was active in the community and a former member of the Probus and Inner Wheel and a volunteer at the Northumberland Hills Hospital. Visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Wednesday May 1st from  2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday May 2nd  at 1pm at St Peters Anglican Church, Cobourg. Those wishing may make donations to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.
