Shelby Allen Matthews

Surrounded by his family at Toronto General Hospital on Friday, March 23, 2012, Shelby Matthews at the age of 24 went to be with his angels.  Beloved grandson of Carol Ward.  Much loved son of the late Jackie Ward Jeschke and her husband Ron Jeschke and Jim Matthews and his wife Sherry Matthews.  Dear brother of Josh Jeschke, Allen, Athena and Alexis Matthews, and Katrina and Cassandra Jeschke.  Loved grandson of Al Matthews.  Shelby was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert Ward and his grandmother Marguerite Matthews.  Sadly missed by his uncle, Rob Ward and Heather Carrigan, his cousin Malia Ward and Baby Janiya and his aunt Nancy Matthews and his cousins, James and Matthew Diminie.  Shelby will be greatly missed by his "Mom and Dad", Judy and Astorre, his caregiver Norma Mouncey and his Scooby-Doo family, Doug and Joan McBain and their children Mitch, Valerie and Ellie; as well as by his aunts, uncles and cousins and his many "Doll-faces".  Shelby will be so fondly remembered for the place he held in our hearts as Fred Jones, Mario, the chef at Brenda's Family Restaurant, Casper the Ghost, and as the honorary member of the Westwood Drive Police Department.  Shelby is resting at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home in Cobourg.  A Memorial Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Wednesday, March 28th, at 3 pm.  Visitation to be held at the funeral home on Wednesday for two hours prior to the service, from 1 until 3 pm.  If desired, donations to the Northumberland Hills Hospital, the Therapeutic Clown Program at the Hospital for Sick Children or the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com
