Norma Lillie Wilcox (nee Shearer) February 11, 1933 – February 10, 2012 After a brave journey with dementia, at Extendicare Cobourg, on the eve of her 79th birthday. Norma will be dearly missed by husband Don and beloved children Corey and Sabrina. She is survived by siblings William, Beverley, Colleen and Brian. Norma is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Edna and brother Terry. She enjoyed a distinguished 38-year career with Bell Canada and was a passionate humanitarian and world traveler. Norma dedicated much time and energy to social and political causes and was an active volunteer. As an advocate for the elderly and a lifelong supporter of women's rights she was a trusted mentor and cherished friend to many. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Norma’s Life on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 1-4 pm at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E., Cobourg. Norma would have preferred that those wishing to make an offering in her memory make a donation or a contribution of time and effort to a cause or charity that they feel passionate about.
