Growing up in Indian River, I have many good memories of the Whibbs family. I especially recall playing games with "Mark and Bobby" when they were little, at their great aunts' house which was next door to our house. Sincere sympathies Mark, Robert and families. Also, sympathies to Margaret, Mary, and Terry.
Marg, I am sending heartfelt condolences to you and your family. As we get older it is a particular kind of loss when our siblings pass. I didn’t know Gus personally, but I was touched to hear that he was a special member of St Michael’s parish where I spent my young years in the parish and the school. Blessings to you and yours old friend. Anne.

My Uncle Gus was a kind and creative soul. I remember many summers spent with him and my Aunt Lynn at the lake. Of course, all my cousins and wonderful Aunts and Uncles would join in the festivities! Fun boat rides, BBQ's and swimming in the lake! I distinctly remember one time getting out of the lake, only to find a few leeches on my leg! Everyone was scrambling to find a way to get them off...beer, lit cigarettes, soda; finally a sprinkle of salt did the trick! But it was his love of music, integrity, stories of old Indian River and his wise yet gentle nature that tied us all together during those priceless, fun and humid summers. Memories we can all look back on with joy, gratitude, appreciation and the true sense of the word, "family". Much Love, Erin Gordon

With sincere condolences to you Mark, Bob and all of your families during this most sad and difficult time. There are so many fond memories growing up as neighbours on Beaupre Ave. Gus (&Lynn) were wonderful, kind, fun and always so friendly to all. I remember working with Gus at GM in the paint shop when I was a student. But, most of all I’ll always remember years ago camping at Stoney Lake when with great persistence, Gus taught me how to water ski! What fun we all had when our families spent time together all those years ago. Mark & Bob, your parents are now reunited and may they both rest in peace. Troy & Cindy Carlson (Schlechter)
