Lawrence Garnet Bondy

November 8, 1927 - April 29, 2019

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29th, 2019 in his 92nd year surrounded by his family.  Beloved husband of the late Theresa Bondy (nee Knapp).  Loving father of Joan MacKenzie, Patricia Galipeau (the late Gary), Rosemary Nicholson (Don), Margaret Gordon (Steve), Gerard Bondy (Penny Abrams), Annette Meadows, the late Madeleine Walsh (Grant) and the late James Bondy.  Cherished grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Brother-in-law of Ulric Knapp and the late Blanche Ruston, Irene Quenneville and Allan Knapp. Fondly remembered by his special friend Gayl Nelson.  Lawrence was born and raised in McGregor, Ontario.  In 1963 he took a transfer to Cobourg with General Foods (later Kraft), where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 1992.  Lawrence was well known for his beautiful singing voice, farming, hunting, fishing, tree planting and card playing.  He touched many hearts with his genuine love and concern for others.  Friends are invited to call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Thursday, May 2nd from 4-8 pm.  (There are family members who are allergic to scents, so please no perfumes or colognes).  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 at 1 pm.  Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Northumberland Hills Hospital or the charity of your choice.  The family would like to thank the staff at Northumberland Hills Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.  All the thoughts and prayers of our relatives and friends are deeply appreciated.  Condolences received at
