Marion Eileen Burns (nee Gendron)
April 9, 1945 - December 31, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family announces Marion’s passing at The Golden Plough Lodge, Cobourg on December 31st, 2018 at the age of 73.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jim Burns of Colborne. Marion was the loving and devoted mother of Dan (Debbie), Angela (Greg) Emerson, and James (Michelle). She will be lovingly remembered by her four grand-daughters: Lauren Burns (Matthew Swan), Aimee and Grace Emerson, and Caleigh Burns. Marion is survived by her sisters Barbara Spiers and Jane Eagleson, both of Grafton. She will also be sadly missed by special friend of the family, Dorothy Taylor, and Dorothy’s children Whitney and Victor.
Marion was born in Grafton to the late Dorothy and Leo Gendron, and she lived out her life in the area. She worked as a homemaker for the Red Cross for several years. Home and family were her priorities and she worked hard to keep her house spotless and her gardens in full bloom. She loved her dogs and her grandchildren and would drop everything in a minute if needed.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Golden Plough Lodge for their good care of Marion for the past few years, especially Ginny and Michelle.
