Phyllis Lydia Peters
September 26, 1932 - September 2, 2018
Phyllis Lydia Peters, aged 85 of Toronto, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2018 after a long battle with diabetes and chronic kidney disease. She was born in Ringwood, Ontario on September 26, 1932 to the late Frank & Thelma Breuls, and was predeceased by her brother Ross and sisters Gwendolyn and Arlene.
In 1954, Phyllis married the love of her life, Louis F. Peters, and after living several years in Toronto they found their 'true home' on the lake in Cobourg, Ontario at a place called "Ravensworth". It was there that Phyllis loved to host and entertain her family and friends in spectacular fashion. Many fond memories of these fabulous and fun family gatherings are shared by her sons Brian (Cathy) and Frank (Rita), and her daughters Diane (Alan) and Donna (John) as well as her 11 grandchildren Jessica (Geoff), Melissa (Peter), Courtney, Samantha, Grant (Allia), Derek, Bradley, Brock, Sabrina, Aaron and Andrew, and first great-grandchild Theo. The Christmas and Easter celebrations were always eagerly anticipated given the attention to detail that Phyllis gave to the festive decorations and meal planning.
It is obvious that Phyllis has left a legacy of loved ones and a devoted husband that will miss her dearly.
Phyllis requested that an intimate and private family gathering be held in her honour at a later date. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness at the Bickle Centre in Toronto and the Dialysis Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital. Special thanks also goes out to Claudette Foo for her care and compassion.
If desired, and those wishing can make donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association in honour of Phyllis. We will always carry her memory in our hearts. Condolences received at www.MacCoubrey.com.
