Jeffrey Keith Johansson

May 29, 1959 - March 17, 2024

It is with profound sadness to share the passing of our beloved Jeffrey Johansson suddenly at home on March 17th in his 64th year. Born in Auckland New Zealand, beloved son of the late Marie Ah Leong and Neil Johansson whom he is now reunited with as well as his adoring mother-in-law Elizabeth Turner.
Words cannot express how much he will be missed by his wife, Marina, and the lights of his life, his daughters Christina (Jack) and Kathleen (Codie), and of course his best friend, Maui. Jeff was so loved and will be missed by his sisters in Australia, Crystal (Eddie, Astrid and Augustine, Jermaine and Serena and Link and Sheena), Jackie (Keith and Sagaia, Sean and Sarah, Ursula, Hudson, Kaleb) and their respective families.
He is survived by his father-in-law David and dear friend Mary Lou. Left to mourn and remember his legacy are his brother-in-law’s Doug (Jake, Marissa and Kaycen and Emily and Angelo) and Mike (Cheryl, Elijah, Josh and Cheyenne), dear friend Michelle Phaneuf, affectionately known as “M”, and favourite sous-chef, Rose Turner. He will also be terribly missed by his large extended family around the world including his paradise island, Samoa.
Jeff graduated McGill University where he met his true love, Marina. They put down their roots in Canada finally settling in Cobourg where they raised their family. He was a dedicated employee of Ontario Power Generation for over 30 years and recently began teaching parttime at Loyalist College with the Radiation Technician program. Referred to as Uncle Jeff by his students, he was excited to share his expertise and experience with the next generation. In his spare time Jeff loved watching sports especially his Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays. But nothing made him happier than hooking up
the trailer and heading off to go camping with his family and best friend Maui. Jeff, we hope you are enjoying your coconut rum under a palm tree as you look across the ocean.

Manuia Lou Malaga (Have a beautiful journey to Heaven).

Visitation will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Cobourg on Wednesday April 3rd from 1:00pm - 2:00pm followed by a service at 2:00pm. Everyone is invited to the Great Hall following the service for a reception. In lieu of flowers we ask that you consider a donation to Diabetes Canada or the charity of your choice. Please dress casually for this celebration.

Zackary Weaver - March 21, 2024

Marina, Christina, and Kathleen, you are forever in our hearts. As you know Jeff was a great teacher. He taught me many things. Mostly concerning yard work and general house maintenance. Like if the lawnmower wasn't working or moving around heavy things for my mother. He didn't have to do those things but he did them all the same. I enjoyed his presence whether it was warm and jovial or slightly quiet with a get the job done attitude. No matter the mood, it was a pleasure to be around Jeff. He was a very generous man. He was generous with his lively and charismatic spirit. The room changed when Jeff was around. He could make you feel secure even if the entire world was trembling. Most of all, Jeff taught me warmth and sincerity. As you know, Jeff was a great teacher. I am thankful to have lived in a world where our lives overlapped. I know he will continue giving to this world through yourselves and those you continue to teach. The Weaver-Phaneuf family
